iVision–Mission

iVision-Mission enables ophthalmic screening for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration to populations located in rural and other isolated communities through mobile or permanent imaging units.

Imaging and collection of medical data can also be done without any immediate access to the Internet. For example, at the end of a screening day or week, when Internet access becomes available, data and images can be sent to the server.

It provides the following characteristics:

  1. Imaging and medical data can be collected through a single mobile camera in multiple locations or through multiple cameras located in one or more screening sites.
  2. Distinct data management for each screening site is available with multiple screening sites.
  3. One or more cameras can be securely associated with tracing to one or more operators.
  4. Security of transmission of nominal, clinical and image data.
  5. Confidentiality
  6. Surveillance for a comprehensive screening process from the first contact with the patient to follow-up with an ophthalmologist or yearly recall. Easy overview of all patient files allowing overall surveillance and prompt intervention without undue delay.
  7. Option for first level reading by an assistant and second level reading by the ophthalmologist.
  8. Standard grading tools to assist reading ophthalmologists.
  9. Option of automated quality control of the medical readings.
  10. Screening for diabetic retinopathy can be associated with that of glaucoma and/or macular degeneration with all of the above characteristics.
